Location information for Cork Airport

Cork Airport in a nutshell

Aerfort Chorcaí, as this airport is called in Irish, is the second airport of Ireland, after Dublin International Airport. The airport is equipped to process 3 million passengers a year. It is in particular important to the Irish airline Aer Lingus and budget airline Ryanair. Cork is located on the south coast of Ireland, where the river Lee flows into Cork Harbour. The airport is regularly faced with bad weather conditions, in which case airplanes land at Shannon, Kerry or Dublin.

The airport is easy to reach via motorway by car and bus. There is a bus every 30 minutes headed for Cork, which is located eight kilometres from the airport. There is a hotel at the airport, which also has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. There is also a sports bar with huge screens. Business travellers can use the Jack Lynch Executive Lounge. In addition, the airport houses banks, exchange offices (limited opening hours) and ATM machines.

In the aviation industry Cork Airport is indicated with the abbreviations ORK (IATA airport code) and EICK (ICAO airport code).
