General information

Gothenburg Central Station is the main train station of Gothenburg and was inaugurated in 1858. It's a good starting point to travel by train through Scandinavia. Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden and is situated in the southwest of the country. The city is popular among tourists. Its relatively mild climate makes it a great destination, even in winter.

Transportation

Are you staying in Gothenburg? Next to the station lies the ultramodern bus terminal Nils Ericson. City buses, regional buses, and even international buses leave from this terminal. Taxis can be found at the station's main exit. The streetcars which cross the city also leave here. You can also rent a car inside the concourse. This is quite convenient for a country as large and vast as Sweden. Hertz has a branch at the station.

The station has a wide variety of shops. If you have enough time, we advise you to go to the Nordstan shopping mall. Why? This is Scandinavia's largest shopping mall. Here you'll definitely find what you're looking for. There's a pedestrian underpass from the station to Nordstan.
