Innsbruck is the capital city of the Austrian state Tirol. It is mainly known for its winter sports possibilities. The city has an attractive city center full of historic buildings. In 1964 and 1976 Innsbruck organized the Olympic Winter Games.

The city is surrounded by high mountains such as Hafelekar (2334 m) on the north side and Patscherkofel (2246 m) and Serles (2718 m) on the south side. About 30 kilometers further down south lies the Brenner Pass.

As an important tourist town, there is no lack of hotels in Innsbruck, though during the winter season it can be difficult to find a room. Therefore it is recommended to book well in advance. During the summer season one will not have any problems finding a room and the prices are lower.
