Citizens Area Transit operates several bus lines, of which most run to the suburbs. The double decker bus ‘The Deuce’ is an exception, it runs 24 hours a day along ‘The Strip’, the part of Las Vegas Boulevard where most hotels, casinos and theaters are located. America is the country of convenience for car owners and Las Vegas is no exception to this. You can perfectly drive around in the city, except for The Strip, especially during weekends. People who know their way around in the city therefore take a special route, they take the I-15 highway (which runs parallel with The Strip) and take the turning closest to the destined casino or hotel.
Parking is no problem at all and is mostly free for hotel guests or casino visitors. On weekends the parking garages get full fast but there is a solution to this, have your car parked (so-called ‘valet parking’).
There is a large variety of hotels/casinos to offer (a common combination in Las Vegas), but take into account that on weekends they are often fully booked, the rates are also significantly higher then. If you wish to avoid the hustle, then book a hotel between Sunday and Thursday. You don't only pay a lot less, but you can also enjoy special offers, such as a room including dinner and theater show.
Be aware that the hotels in Las Vegas mostly charge for the use of internet and the fitness facilities, of which the rates are usually quite high.
